Clinical psychologist
Sophie is a clinical psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Sophie has completed her undergraduate degree at the ANU and has obtained her Master of Clinical Psychology degree at the University of Canberra. Since becoming a psychologist, Sophie has worked mainly with adolescent and young adults in both not for profit and private sector. She currently works part-time as a school psychologist at Radford College (due to this, she is unable to see Radford College students at the centre). Her approach in working with clients is warm, collaborative, and person-centred. Sophie utilises evidence-based therapy such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to assist her clients with a range of presenting difficulties including depression, anxiety, stress, and interpersonal difficulties.
Sophie enjoys facilitating group workshops with parents and young people and is a trained Tuning in to Teens program facilitator. She will be facilitating Tuning in to Teens program at the Canberra Child Psychiatry Centre. Sophie works at the Canberra Child Psychiatry Centre on Wednesdays.
She is on maternity leave at present.
